SAFSCRUB (Surgical Scrub)
Composition
Chlorhexidine Gluconate Solution I.P. 20% v/v
(eq. to Chlhexdine Gluconate 4% w/v)
With Non-lonic Surfactant Base Q.S.
SAFSCRUB has a broad spectrum of activity & is very effective for scrubbing of hands before surgery.
Directions for use : Use undiluted.
For antimicroblal hand washing
Take 5 ml Safscrub onto wet hands and wash for 30 seconds.
Rinse hands thoroughly and dry.
For surgical hand washing
Repeat above step and wash for 2 minutes.
Rinse hands thoroughly and dry with a sterile towel.
For body cleansing
On wet body, take sufficient amount of SAFSCRUB to work up lather. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
Antimicrobial Action :
- SAFSCRUB is useful for a broad spectrum of activity with excellent persistent and residual effect
- It is bactericidal, fungicidal and virucidal.
- It results in significantly greater reductions in quantity of resident bacteria than any other scrubs.
- It remains active for 6 hours after use - thus preventing re growth of microbes on skin. This is unlike scrubs based on povidone-iodine, which have a shorter duration of action.
- It is active even in the presence of organic matter.
